Double Chocolate Waffles

Super easy and quick decadent double chocolate waffles. And if you don’t have a waffle maker you can also make as pancakes. Serve with vanilla ice-cream and a big pouring of maple syrup and our Vinofood Mandarin, Chilli & Shiraz Chocolate Sauce. For a deviously yummy sweet treat!

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1¾ cups milk
  • 125 gm butter, unsalted, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups self-raising flour
  • ¼ cup castor sugar
  • ¼ cup cacao or cocoa powder
  • ½ cup Vinofood Mandarin, Chilli & Shiraz Chocolate Sauce
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup to serve
  • 1 scoop vanilla ice-cream to serve


Instructions

  1. Heat waffle maker. If you don't have a waffle maker you can make as pancakes in a fry pan.
  2. Whisk together the eggs, milk, butter and vanilla in a medium sized bowl and set aside.
  3. Combine flour and sugar in a large bowl, and make a well in the centre.
  4. Gradually whisk milk mixture into the flour to form a batter.
  5. Pour ½ of batter into each waffle square, close the lid and cook until timer has finished. If making pancakes add a big spoonful to the pan and cook until bubbles form. Flip over and cook other side.
