Christmas Fruit Mince Pies

By simply adding a few extra ingredients to our Fig, Apple & Chardonnay Chutney you can make a great base for these yummy fruit mince pies. Christmas is just not the same without them!


Ingredients

  • 1 packet sweet shortcrust pastry 
  • 360 gm Vinofood Fig, Apple & Chardonnay Chutney
  • 60 gm glace cherries
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp brandy or whisky 
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon


Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients together (except the pastry) and let sit for 1-2 days or more if possible to infuse the flavours.

  2. Line a 12 hole muffin tin with pastry rounds (use a glass or cup to cut out shape).

  3. Spoon the fruit mince into pastry case.

  4. Using a 'star shape cutter' make 12 stars and put on top of the fruit mince.

  5. Bake in 180°C for 20 minutes or until golden.
